Position Recorders in Silver and Gold Badge Claims
On 25th October 2009 the approvals were published for OzFlarm and miniOz to be used as Position recorders. Links to the official documents are below.
Position Recorders will replace cameras, not loggers, so in general any restriction or requirement that applied to cameras will apply to them.
Written declarations must be presented with flarm claims (check sporting code for details of the requirement for written declarations. Note that Latitudes and Longitudes MUST be specified for all waypoints.
Barograph trace to be presented with flarm claims unless the claim is supported with a
copy of the calibration form for the flarm (check sporting code for requirements
for calibration periods)
OzFlarm and miniOz can also be used to provide barograph evidence, but this will depend on the pilot having the OzFlarm calibrated in the same way as any secure logger or standalone barograph gets calibrated.
